A long weekend rewards short sectors. The best private jet destinations in Asia for a long weekend sit within about three hours of home. They also have an airport where you can land close to the hotel and clear immigration without a queue. From Singapore, that points to Phuket, Bali and Langkawi, with the Maldives and Koh Samui possible given more planning. If you start in North Asia, Tokyo and Macau earn their place. This guide covers what each costs in time, aircraft and airport logistics, so you can decide before you request a quote.

Which are the best private jet destinations in Asia for a long weekend?

Our shortlist is built around one rule: keep each sector short enough that you gain a full day at the destination compared with a commercial connection. Where a source gives a flight time, it is shown below. Where it does not, ask your operator for block time, because winds, routing and payload all move the number.

Where do private jets depart in Singapore?

Most business jets use Seletar (XSP), about 30 minutes from Marina Bay, while the largest jets use Changi. Customs is on the field at Seletar, and one operator guide describes arrival-to-car times of often under 15 minutes. Sources differ on Seletar's operating hours and noise rules, so ask your handler to confirm both for a late Sunday return.

Phuket: the easiest Friday-night escape

Phuket is the default long-weekend jet trip from Singapore. One operator lists the sector at about 1 hour 55 minutes. Scheduled flights are similarly quick in the air, with the fastest taking 1 hour 45 minutes. So the private jet's advantage is not speed in the air. It is departing when your group is ready, skipping the terminal, and arriving as one party with its luggage.

On the ground, the Siam Land Private Jet Terminal opened at Phuket International Airport in December 2021. It has VIP lounges, on-site immigration and customs, and ground handling. Plan your transfer carefully. The airport is in the north of the island, so a resort in the south means a longer drive. If you are staying on the southern coast, ask your desk about a boat or helicopter alternative before you commit.

Best fit: a light or midsize jet for a group of four to eight, leaving Seletar on Friday afternoon and returning Sunday evening.

Bali: the classic private jet weekend

The private jet flight from Singapore to Bali is typically 2.5 to 3 hours. That is comfortably inside our limit. At Ngurah Rai (DPS), private passengers use a General Aviation Terminal with expedited immigration, customs and baggage handling away from commercial traffic. Transfers are around 20 minutes to Seminyak or Jimbaran and 45 minutes to Ubud, traffic permitting.

What does a private jet from Singapore to Bali cost?

Published broker estimates vary widely. One lists USD 12,000–18,000 for a light jet and USD 20,000–30,000 for a midsize jet one way. Another puts light jets at USD 16,100 to 20,500. A third quotes USD 25,000 to 38,000 for midsize jets. Treat roughly USD 12,000 to 38,000 one way as an indicative band. Aircraft class, season and where the jet is positioned drive the difference. A weekend return can approach double that unless the aircraft is already nearby.

Does Bali airport close for Nyepi?

Yes, and it matters for any March trip. Landing slots and parking must be pre-arranged, particularly in high season or on public holidays. Separately, the island closes to air traffic during Nyepi, the Day of Silence. For 2027, most listings give Monday 8 March, though a few show 9 March. Treat 8–10 March as an affected travel period until official notices confirm the arrangements. Plan to land before the closure and depart after it.

Langkawi: the shortest hop and the best value

For a lower-cost weekend, Langkawi is hard to beat. One Singapore guide lists Singapore to Phuket or Langkawi as under two hours, suited to light jets or turboprops. Turboprops are the cheapest aircraft type to charter. One 2026 guide puts them at around USD 2,300 per hour and up, against USD 3,000–5,500 for light jets.

Langkawi International (LGK) has a 3,810 m runway, which is no constraint for any business jet. We did not find confirmation of a dedicated private jet terminal there, so ask your handler how arrivals are processed. Travellers starting in Kuala Lumpur have an even shorter option. Subang is Malaysia's primary business aviation airport, and KL to Langkawi is about 45 minutes.

Maldives: worth it if you can spare four days

The Maldives is the most aspirational destination here, and the longest sector. Business jets regularly arrive from cities including Singapore, so it is routine. For scale, Dubai to the Maldives is about four hours on a super-midsize or heavy jet. Ask your operator for Singapore block time and confirm the aircraft can fly it non-stop with your passengers and bags.

Velana (MLE) has an 11,155-foot runway that takes jets of every category. It also has a dedicated VIP terminal alongside the executive ramp. The part people forget is the second leg. With advance coordination, the transfer from aircraft door to seaplane door typically takes under 30 minutes. However, seaplanes generally operate in daylight, so a late arrival may mean a speedboat or an overnight in Malé. Time your departure from Singapore around the seaplane window rather than the other way round. Demand peaks in the dry season, from November to April, so request slots early.

Koh Samui: a private island airport with its own rules

Samui (USM) is unusual. It is a privately owned airport operated by Bangkok Airways. That makes advance coordination of handling and fees more important than at a public airport. One broker notes it allows direct arrivals for Four Seasons and Six Senses guests without a Bangkok connection. A light or midsize jet suits the island well, and the airport is roughly 2 km north of Chaweng. Confirm slots, landing arrangements and handling with your operator before you finalise dates, and keep a Phuket alternate in mind.

Tokyo and Macau: for North Asia departures or a four-day break

Can a private jet land at Haneda?

Yes, with planning. Tokyo is a better fit for travellers starting in Hong Kong, where one guide lists Tokyo to Hong Kong at 4–4.5 hours, typically on midsize or large aircraft. Haneda (HND) is close to central Tokyo and open 24 hours for business aviation. The constraints are real, though. General aviation is limited to 16 daytime slots a day between 0600 and 2300. Parking is capped at five days, and longer stays mean repositioning to Narita or Nagoya.

Private passengers use the Business Aviation Gate in Terminal 3, which charges JPY 400,000 per arrival or departure before tax. Include that in your budget. Japan also now runs a three-strikes system at Haneda, barring pilots with three confirmed ATC violations for three years. For you, that is one more reason to use an operator whose crews know the airport.

Macau and Hong Kong by private jet

Hong Kong's business aviation facility, HKBAC, offers handling, lounges and co-located customs, immigration and quarantine services. Macau (MFM) has an 11,220-foot runway and sits close to the Cotai resorts. Between the two, a helicopter link from Hong Kong takes under 15 minutes, while the high-speed ferry takes 55–70 minutes. If your hotel is in Macau, landing at MFM saves the transfer. If you plan to split time between both cities, land at Hong Kong and take the helicopter.

Which aircraft class suits a weekend trip?

One operator describes the seating bands as 4 to 7 passengers on light jets, 8 to 10 on midsize and super-midsize jets, and 12 to 16 on large-cabin aircraft. Common light jets on Asian routes include the Citation CJ2, Lear 45XR and Hawker 400XP. For resort luggage, a safe rule is one bag per seat, so a party of six with golf bags or dive kit should step up a class. For rough budgeting, one 2026 guide lists light jets at USD 3,500–5,200 an hour and midsize at USD 4,800–7,000. Real Asia quotes usually come out higher because of positioning, handling and landing fees.

How to keep a long-weekend charter sensible

  • Check live empty legs. If your dates are flexible, a one-way positioning flight can cut the cost of one direction. See our live empty legs page.
  • Travel as a full cabin. A light jet shared by six people costs far less per head than the same trip split across two business-class bookings.
  • Avoid public-holiday peaks. Bali, Phuket and Tokyo slots tighten around holidays. Book earlier or shift by a day.
  • Compare against a jet card. If you will make several trips a year, see our jet card rates.

What to ask before you book

  1. Which operator will fly the aircraft, and which safety audits does it hold?
  2. Are landing slots, parking and permits confirmed in writing for both ends?
  3. Does the quote include positioning, landing and handling fees, and overnight crew costs?
  4. What happens if the return is delayed, for example by a curfew or a late-closing airport?
  5. Can the aircraft fly the sector non-stop with your passenger and baggage load?

Frequently asked questions

How far can you go by private jet for a long weekend in Asia?

From Singapore, the practical limit is about three hours each way. Sourced figures put Bali at 2.5 to 3 hours and Phuket at around two hours, while Langkawi is under two. The Maldives and Tokyo are longer sectors and suit a four-day break or a midsize or larger aircraft with confirmed block times.

How much does a private jet from Singapore to Bali cost?

Published broker estimates for a one-way charter run from roughly USD 12,000 to 18,000 for a light jet and USD 20,000 to 38,000 for a midsize jet, depending on operator and season. A weekend return can approach double that unless the aircraft is already positioned nearby. Treat these as indicative, not quotes.

Does Bali airport close for Nyepi?

Yes. Ngurah Rai closes for roughly 24 hours on Nyepi, the Day of Silence. Most listings give 8 March 2027, though a few show 9 March. Plan to land before the closure and depart after it, and treat 8 to 10 March as affected until official notices confirm the arrangements.

Which airport do private jets use in Singapore?

Most business jets use Seletar (XSP), Singapore's business aviation airport, roughly 30 minutes from Marina Bay, with customs on the field. The largest aircraft typically use Changi. Confirm operating hours and any noise restrictions with your handler, particularly for a late return on a Sunday evening.
